How is BB Glow Semi-Permanent Foundation Done?

Even though it’s called BB Glow, the treatment does not use the ordinary BB Cream makeup. Semi-permanent foundation deposits ampoules into your facial skin’s surface layers using a specialized PMU (permanent makeup) machine. Like eyebrow microblading, it “tattoos” the pigment most suited for your skin, on your face.

In addition to the purely cosmetic enhancement, BB Glow can be performed by our licensed aesthetician to provide additional anti-aging benefits like nourishing and hydrating your skin beyond the surface. Your artist will deposit a soothing serum, along with the pigment, which helps your body produce more collagen and elastin, which are key elements for younger-looking skin.

How Does it Feel While Receiving the Treatment?

Compared to most permanent makeup procedures, clients usually feel only a pleasant tickling sensation while receiving the BB Glow treatment. Since the application is not too concentrated in one area, there is little to no discomfort at all.

Preparing for Your Enhancement:

  • Expect to be at the studio for an hour to an hour and a half for your enhancements. Some appointments can take shorter or longer, depending on individual circumstances.
  • Avoid visiting tanning salons, getting facial treatments or invasive facial enhancements a week prior to your appointment.
  • Consult with your physician regarding the hold of blood-thinning medications, which should not be taken three days prior to your appointment.
  • Avoid consuming caffeine as well as any sort of supplements like Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Vitamin E, fish oil supplements, and Niacin at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.
  • Treatments will be performed at MicroBladers Studio + Academy located in Las Vegas, NV.

Aftercare & Maintenance:

  • Your artist will provide you with a list of aftercare instructions and discuss your follow-up appointments.
  • It’s important that you don’t use cosmetic products on your face other than what’s recommended for the next 24-48 hours
  • Follow the cleaning method and schedule stated in the aftercare kit.
  • Avoid excessive sun exposure and using tanning beds, engaging in sports, excercise and activities that cause intense sweating, as well as long-distance travels for the first three weeks to get its full benefits
  • Touchups are recommended every few weeks. Some may require more frequent touchups, depending on skin condition and lifestyle.
  • Healing takes approximately 4 – 6 weeks.

FAQs

How long does BB Glow’s results last?

Depending on your desired look and effect, the results may last several weeks to several months as long as you adhere to the maintenance schedule. You will have to come in for touchups, initially after two weeks, then your artist will discuss your follow-up sessions depending on your individual circumstances and preferences.

Can I put on makeup after my BB Glow enhancement?

Yes, you can continue to use makeup but we recommend waiting at least 24 hours after your treatment for best results.

Will BB Glow look natural on me?

Just like eyebrow microblading procedures, you have the option to choose which look or effect you want for your face. You and your artist will determine the pigment that is closest to your natural skin tone unless you want to lighten or darken your skin on purpose. That is definitely an option. Some clients prefer whiter, porcelain-looking skin and others want just a natural shade. Either way, our professional BB Glow artists and licensed aesthetician will know how best to choose and mix pigments to create one that looks most natural on you overall.

How does the BB Glow semi-permanent foundation feel like compared to microblading?

Although BB Glow is a cosmetic micro-needling technique, there is significantly less discomfort than microblading. The most our clients have felt is a pleasant tickling sensation on their face from the specialized PMU machine. This is because the procedure is not concentrated in a very small area.

Does semi-permanent foundation wash off?

Just like other PMU enhancements, your semi-permanent foundation will not wash off or melt if you do your normal activities like swimming, working out, or going outdoors.

Will BB Glow clog my pores?

It will not clog your pores or cause breakouts. This is also because the ampules or serums does not sit on top of your pores like regular makeup.

Who is a good candidate for BB Glow semi-permanent foundation?
