How is Microblading Correction Done?

You might see confusing information from various online resources about how correction on microbladed, tattooed brows, or other types of cosmetic micropigmentation is done. One of our services is Pigment Lightening and Removal. The difference is that correction has more to do with creating a brand-new look or adjustments – minor and major to get the look that you want. There are also many types of correction, not just color. It can be the shape, the very style, or other aspects.

This is done by combining several techniques and methods, including lightening the original ink or pigment. Then, the artist will create a new shape if necessary, determine and use the pigment that is most suited for your desired look, and most of all – make sure that it will be far more superior than the microblading work you were not satisfied with. Correction may also apply to areola repigmentation or hairline microlading. This may require several sessions until you and your artist achieve the best results.

How Does it Feel While Receiving the Treatment?

Each client experiences varying levels of discomfort during the procedure. It depends on the individual’s pain tolerance and skin sensitivity. In general, clients only feel little to moderate pain. Remember that even though treatments using similar microblading techniques create micro incisions, – they only get to the outer or superficial layers of the skin.

FAQs

How do you correct previous microblading work done on my brows?

If you are unsatisfied with the color or shape of your tattooed or microbladed brows, your artist can do a correction procedure by first drawing a brand-new shape that is most flattering for your face then determine the best color that matches the overall look that you want. They will then perform the eyebrow enhancement that will best cover the old permanent makeup work. In most cases, this will be microshading or a combination of techniques.

Do I need to have previous permanent makeup or microblading work done removed completely before you can perform a correction?

Depending on how deep the ink has gone under your skin, we may recommend that you get pigment lightening done first before your artist can lay out your new look. Read more about pigment lightening here.

Can you cover new scars that occurred on my previous or newly done micrblading work?

Yes. We’ve had clients come in for correction and at the same time, who are wanting to cover scars around their microbladed brows. Your previous PMU as well as the scar must have healed enough before we can cover the scar. Have post-surgical scars? See how you can cover surgery-related scars here.

Do I need touchups after the correction procedure?

Since getting a correction is almost like receiving a new PMU treatment, touchups may be required to achieve the best results. After the first touchup session, your artist will discuss whether or not you need to come in for further touchups.
